Man I can't get any momentum going, I'll win one week, then come back and lose it all back the next. Hopefully this weekend will be a winner.
Play:
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe under 62 million (+115) <1/1.15> WSEX
When I first saw this line it looked a little high. People will turn out, no doubt about that, but they are estimating it to do better than two of the three Lord of the Rings movies on opening weekend (which look very similar) and I don't buy that. Although the books are very popular, I would say Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings still have a bigger fanbase. Also, with the movie being a little long for a kid flick (2+ hours with trailers) and the Christian themes tied in throughout the movie, that may turn away some audiences. Websites I've browsed have this pegged anywhere between 45-55 million. I would lean toward the former and estimate a 45.2 million opening weekend haul, which is a similar take to Fellowship of the Ring.
